Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect on my first consultation?

Prior to your first consultation for Amatsu Physical Therapy and/or TBM treatments you will be required to complete a Health Questionnaire and Consent Form – download form here Health Questionnaire and Consent Form.  This should be returned to your therapist by email, photograph and sent by text, or by post in advance of your first appointment.  You should also bring the form to your first appointment.

Based on this information, we may give recommendations on diet, lifestyle and postural problems etc.  Using a combination of observation, muscle testing and palpation (touch) further information is gathered before applying a combination of techniques to suit each person’s needs.

How often would I need treatment?

This depends on whether the condition experienced is chronic or acute.  Other factors will be considered such as your general health, lifestyle, diet and environment.   The regularity of treatments will also be dictated by your needs, it could be weekly or fortnightly initially.  We may recommend maintenance treatments on an ongoing but infrequent basis, but this will vary with each person and your specific needs and conditions.

Will there be any discomfort?

These are gentle therapies suitable for young and old alike.  There are no hard adjustments or manipulations and most clients find the treatments to be very relaxing, which brings about calmness, generating a sense of well-being.

How long is the treatment?

An Amatsu consultation and treatment will take 60 minutes.

Food Intolerance Testing takes 90 minutes.

Stress Management sessions will take 60 minutes.

The TBM consultation and treatment will take 60 minutes.

Canine Amatsu Physical Therapy treatment will take up to 60 minutes.

What should I wear?

You should wear practical, loose comfortable clothing.  This will enable us to move, reposition and muscle test the limbs.  You remain fully clothed throughout all treatments.

How should I feel after a treatment?

It is not unusual to feel different straight away, although some people feel the changes over the first few days following treatment.  Some people may feel tired; others get a boost of energy.  These are transient effects and your body is simply adjusting to the changes.  It is always recommended  that, if possible, you take a short walk (15/20 minutes) and drink plenty of water following treatment to keep your body hydrated and aid the release of toxins.
